Marian converts a wide range of EMI materials such as: copper and aluminum foils, metalized fabrics, conductive elastomers, conductive foams, and tapes/transfer adhesives. Based on the complexity of your application, Marian can also create a part with multiple layers of thin conductive materials that achieves the appropriate EMI shielding and absorbing requirements. EMI Gaskets, RFI Gaskets
To ensure electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), it is common in many device designs to completely encase the electronics in a conductive enclosure. EMI gaskets and RFI gaskets provide good electrical conductivity across the gasket / flange interface at the seam of the enclosure. Generally, the better the conformability and conductivity of the material, the higher the shielding effectiveness of the gaskets.
Conductive Silicone Rubber
Marian manufactures custom EMI shielding gaskets out of conductive silicone rubber materials. Electrically conductive particle-filled silicone elastomers can be an excellent choice for an EMI gasket, particularly if the gaskets is required to also provide an environmental seal to the enclosure.
Rogers BISCO® EC-2130
EC-2130 silicones are formulated to have a low durometer, creating the low compressive forces needed for challenging product designs. EC-2130 silicones are ideal for use in compact handheld electronics, communication devices, electronic enclosures and laptop computers. Download Data Sheet
Rogers Condux Plus™ Foam
This electrically conductive foam offers excellent and consistent conductivity across a wide range of compression levels. Condux Plus™ exhibits high material integrity, holding it’s shape and does not collapse during die cutting. Download Datasheet
Foil EMI Tapes, Fabric EMI Tapes, Foam EMI Tapes
Tapes are thin, flexible and conformable to fit precisely around curves and tight edges. EMI tapes are laminated with a conductive pressure sensitive adhesive. They can be cut into any size or shape, and an added bonus is that they are very light-weight. Thin EMI foil, fabric, and foam tapes fit particularly well within small electronic devices.
There are a very wide range of EMI tapes available, many offering added features such as: static charge grounding, anti-static masking, cushioning, and mechanical protection. Most have excellent dimensional stability making them easy to die-cut.
EMI Foil Tapes
- Copper, aluminum, silver, stainless steel
- Laminated with conductive PSA
- Multi-layer options laminated to fabric and foam for increase durability and gap filling
EMI Fabric Tapes, Metalized Cloth
- Metalized woven, non-woven, and rip-stop fabrics
- Laminated with conductive PSA
- Multi-layer laminate options (including
PET, polymer films and foil) that offer increased
toughness and external electrical insulation
EMI Foam Tapes
- Metal plated polyurethane, polyolefin and silicone foams
- Fabric-over-foam gasket materials
- Durable and ideal for converting
- Laminated with conductive PSA, high conductivity in x, y and z axes
Conductive Transfer Adhesives and Double Coated Tapes
Electrically conductive adhesive transfer tapes and double coated tapes are designed to be used in a variety of specialized electronics from attaching EMI shields and gaskets, to grounding and bonding. Conductive ATT and DCT can eliminate the need for screws and mechanical fasteners while allowing the use of lighter, more compact fabric and layered foil shielding materials. Compared to liquid adhesives and epoxies, ATT and DCT are easy-to-use pressure sensitive tapes that can be die cut to any custom shape.
